Our ‘Music & food in the garden’ event takes place on Sunday 2nd August, with food served from 2pm and live music beginning at 3pm. Entry is free, but booking is required.
A Summer Sunday in Barnby
There is something rather special about enjoying live music outdoors on a summer afternoon, particularly when good food and great company are involved.
Our garden provides the perfect setting to gather with family and friends, find a comfortable spot and enjoy a relaxed Sunday together. Whether you are visiting from Beccles, Lowestoft, Southwold, Bungay or elsewhere across Suffolk and Norfolk, you will receive a warm welcome at the Swan Inn.
Food will be available from 2pm, with an extra-special garden menu prepared for the event. Details of the menu are available on request, so please contact us if you would like to find out more before booking.
Live Music from the Lowestoft Longshoremen
The entertainment begins at 3pm when the incredible Lowestoft Longshoremen bring their distinctive sound and plenty of character to the Swan Inn garden.
Based in Lowestoft, the group performs traditional sea shanties and maritime songs inspired by the town’s proud seafaring and fishing heritage. Their performances combine strong voices, memorable harmonies and songs that are made for joining in.
Their lively performances are filled with warmth, humour and local character, making them a wonderful choice for an afternoon of live music in the Suffolk countryside.
Food, Music and Family Fun
Music & food in the garden has been planned as a great family day out, with something for every generation to enjoy.
Arrive early and begin the afternoon with something delicious from our special garden menu. You can then settle in with your favourite drink and enjoy the music from 3pm.
There is no need to dress up and no complicated schedule to follow. Simply bring your family or friends, enjoy the surroundings and let the Lowestoft Longshoremen provide the soundtrack to your Sunday afternoon.

This is a free event, but places must be booked in advance. Early booking is recommended to help us plan for the number of guests attending.
